Content From Way Back (Machine)

I recently spent some time in a room on TryHackMe, where the Wayback Machine was mentioned as a possible source of sensitive information (maybe someone deployed a /config folder or a test file of some sort, giving away information about how the system works).

This site is built using static HTML. Despite that, there were some interesting finds along the way. Like a /.well-known/... path. Probably used by Let’s Encrypt for automated certificate renewal or something similar. When I tried to find it again a while later, I couldn’t.

I guess this is an excellent proof of how one simple backup at the right/wrong moment can disclose information you didn’t know about.

I -did- find a couple of old posts from an earlier version of this site though. While those posts are pretty uninteresting in themselves, I still decided to import them into this site. I guess it’s a mix of nostalgia and a wish to remember who I am. Or, who I was.

There’s even older content from other sites, where I used to blog during my time at university. Some of those posts should probably be left buried - while others may actually prove that I’ve had at least one or two good ideas, so far.
